$2 Tater Thursdays: The I-Spy-Walk Edition

Nathan and I had been working on a lot of new words these last few weeks so I thought I'd take him out of our normal environment and see what he'd say. So I decided we'd take an "I-Spy" walk. We actually did this twice this week. The first time, I'd say "I Spy a Yellow Car" and he'd look around, find it and point to it. But today's walk, I let him tell me what he saw.

It was a lot of fun to see what he'd been learning. He was quick to point out every truck and boat in the driveways. And "blue ovals"--meaning Ford emblems on vehicles! Along with the Kia ovals!

This time around, we also created a "treasure chest" in our stroller basket. He was allowed to pick up any nature item that was already on the ground, such as leaves, sticks, etc. He got confused at one point and snagged a rock from around one of the trees on the sidewalk area. :)

When we got back home, he wanted to do laps around our main level with the leaves. So we each grabbed two and pretended to fly with them. Lots of giggles there.

This was a fun one for both of us. I loved listening to him talk and share what he saw and he seemed to get excited when he found an object that he could say the word for. I'm still amazed at how many words, colors, shapes, etc that he knows. He's really bloomed these last few months. He's just been soaking it all in all along! :)

Since we didn't spend any money, he has 2 more dollars to put in our bank for future days or for his beloved Icees at Target!
